Why Jesus Is Holding Everything Together Today

If you are feeling weary today, I want to gently remind you of something you might have forgotten in the middle of your busy week. Most of us spend our days trying to hold everything together—our families, our work, our peace of mind, and even our faith. It is an exhausting way to live, carrying the weight of a world that was never meant to rest on your shoulders.

The good news of the gospel is not a set of demands for tired people. It is the announcement of a living Person. Long before you woke up anxious about your schedule, Jesus was already reigning. And right now, in this very moment, He is actively sustaining every corner of creation and every detail of your life.

When Scripture tells us that Jesus is before all things and that in Him all things hold together, it opens our eyes to a breathtaking view of reality. Think about the way Jesus walked through the dust of Galilee. He was never rushed, never panicked, and never caught off guard by a storm or a desperate crowd. Why? Because the very hands that touched the leper and broke the bread were the hands that spoke the cosmos into being.

Creation does not keep spinning because of human effort, and your life does not stay intact because of your stress. Before the first sunrise ever lit the horizon, Christ was there. He was there before your present hardship began, and He is standing in the middle of it right now. When you feel like your world is fraying at the edges, the Spirit wants to anchor your heart in this quiet truth: you are held by the One who holds all things.

Jesus did not remain at a distance, holding creation together from far away. He stepped right into the centre of our brokenness. He walked through the desert, carried the weight of the cross, and descended into the dark silence of the grave. And then, on the third morning, the tomb was emptied forever. He became the firstborn from among the dead, proving that even death itself has to bow to His authority.

The empty tomb changes everything about how we face our struggles today. It means that the worst thing is never the final thing. If Jesus can walk out of a sealed grave, He can handle the broken pieces of your story. The Holy Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is not a distant doctrine; He is present right now, moving with real power to bring resurrection life into places that feel completely exhausted.

Because He holds all things and because He conquered the grave, Jesus deserves the first place in our lives. Not a side room in our house, not just an hour on Sunday morning, but the absolute centre of everything we are. When we realise who He truly is, our tight grip on life begins to soften. We stop trying to force every outcome and simply yield to His leadership.

Giving Jesus first place is not about burdening you with religious performance. It is about surrender. It is sitting quietly in His presence and letting His Spirit write a fresh blueprint on your heart. When Christ takes His rightful place as the Head, peace begins to order your soul. You move from striving into resting, confident that the One who walked out of the tomb is more than capable of leading you forward.

Take a deep breath today and release the burdens you were never created to carry. Where in your life are you still trying to hold things together in your own strength, instead of letting Jesus take first place?
